“This young man can play” – Master Drummer Michael Carvin

"Michael Hojnacki has a percussionist's purview when it comes to composing, and his multi-layer creativity is ambitious indeed!" - Pianist, Composer & Arranger Kirk Nurock

Chicago born drummer, percussionist, composer and producer, Michael Hojnacki, is a unique voice in the New York music scene. A graduate from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, his art is at the intersection of classical percussion, electronic, folk, rock, indie, singer/songwriter, beat music, jazz and world music.

Michael is always on a continuous search to expand his breadth of musicality. He fuses his versatile training, eclectic experiences, and textural execution to convey emotions and rhythms through a danceable beat. Along with performing in New York, Michael has performed at Switzerland’s Bern International Jazz Festival, the Made In Chicago Jazz Concert Series, the Kensico Dam Music Festival, the Montauk Music Festival, and has opened for Jon B with artist Armen Paul, as well as Rachel Platten with artist Heather LaRose. His experiences also include pit-work for musicals such as Chicago, Phantom of The Opera, The 25th Annual Putnam County, and Jochem Le Cointre’s Steppenwolf - which premiered May 2016. Additionally, he has worked with the Village Playback Theatre Organization.
